Dr. Halla Diyab is an Award-winning screen-writer, producer, broadcaster and the Founder and the Director of Liberty Media Productions. She has unparalleled TV experience in working in the Muslim and Middle East region since 2005. She worked as a presenter on the Egyptian talk show Lady of Ladies on Rotana Cinema TV in Egypt, as well as holding a regular guest spot on the Egyptian talk show "Hala Sarhan Show" on Rotana TV. Recently she hosted a weekly talk show from London on ANB TV in London.

Graduated with a PhD in Drama from the University of Leicester, BA and MA in Gender and Women Studies from the University of Warwick, she has an outstanding academic record with an Award for Best Poster Presentation in the Area of Business, Social Science and Arts at the University of Leicester Postgraduate Festival in June 2006. Dr Diyab is also a published author as her latest book “Crossing the Margin” was published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing in October 2012.

Dr. Diyab also has published articles online at Durham University and her PhD was published The Historic New Orleans Collection and is available at the British Library and in the Leicester Research Archives. Currently she is working on writing and publishing her memoir in a book.

Dr. Diyab has worked extensively in the television and filmmaking industry in the Middle East. She has worked on several controversial film and TV projects in Syria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the UK. She is well known in the Middle East as the writer of controversial dramas and for outspoken television appearances as both a presenter and a guest. She has written more than four well-known Arab soaps in which she countered extremism and Islamist fundamentalism. Her soaps have been broadcast all across the Middle East, and featured in international film festivals such as the Africano festival and Aljazeera international Documentary Film Festival.

Dr. Diyab was awarded Best Syrian Drama Script Award for 2010, Artist’s Achievement Award for 2011. She was listed in Aliqtisadi Magazine as one of the most influential women in Syria for 2011. She was profiled in the “Women Like Us” exhibition that celebrated inspirational Muslim women.

Dr Diyab is also a public speaker, and a commentator on Middle East and Islamic issues in British media. She is a Vice-Chairman of the Iman Foundation, and has spoken in more than 22 Conferences in the UK and USA. She spoke about the future of Syria in relation to Islam in the European parliament and her latest speech was a talk on “Islam and Women: The Question of Equality and Human Right” during the interfaith week at Leicestershire County. She is an advocate of liberal Islam and she has made regular appearances in Middle East media on several debates on Islam and women. Her latest debate was with Shaykh Habib Ali al-Jifri on CBC TV, where she appears with hijab out of Aljifri’s request.
